4 Money Saving Tips

We are living times in which we have to be extra careful with our finances, especially now that the winter shopping fever is in full bloom. I have to admit, that I am not a person that likes to save money. I always see something nice for me, or for the children and I think, why not? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, but I'm here to tell you that things can change if you really want them too.

This year, I told myself that I need to take better care of my finances, so I did and it actually worked! Can you imagine it? The girl that always bought a lot of stuff managed to save money instead of spending! Well, even my husband thought that this was a miracle. Anyway, I thought that maybe if I share my tips I could also help others who are in the same situation and want to start saving up in the New Year. Enjoy!
 1. Be careful with your expenses -You need to know how much you are spending each month in order to know how much you can actually save up. I keep track of each months expenses and if I have a little extra, I put it aside. It's not every month the same amount, sometimes it is more, sometimes less and sometimes I don't have enough to save at all, the important thing is to keep going. Little by little you will get there!

2. Look for alternatives - I know that having lunch in a nice restaurant might sound perfect, or having a cup of coffee in the morning at Starbucks, but what if you would change this and still enjoy a perfect coffee and lunch without spending so much money? Wouldn't that be amazing? Well, you can! It's that simple! You can make your own fresh coffee that you can take in a special cup with you to work. You can prep your meal at home and enjoy a lovely lunch with something made by you. It's that easy. The possibilities are really endless. If you live close to your work, walk instead of taking the car or take the bus. It's really more about will than anything else really.

3. Smart shopping - It took me a while, but I got the hang of it. The thing is that I know up front what I need and I always look for that item when it's on sale. That way I saved a lot of money and I got myself some lovely pieces with even 70% off. I always buy in summer for winter because that's when I find the best deals and vice versa. Just the other day I bought myself a pair of gorgeous sandals for summer at a really small price. If that's not smart shopping I don't know what is!

4. Be prepared for the unexpected - This is the reason I'm saving up in the first place. I know that many people save up for a holiday, or for a new car, but I always make sure that we have some extra aside for unexpected things. You don't want to have a broken washing machine, or a broken car, trust me! I've been there and it wasn't nice at all. You don't have to panic now and think that if you did not manage to save, everything will go bad, no! There are plenty of companies out there like Northcash online personal loans that offer small loans so you can solve your problem and pay the loan back at your paycheck.

Maybe my tips are not new to you, maybe you knew them yourself, but what I want you to know is that they work! I managed to save this year more than I thought I would and you can't even imagine what a great feeling it is. Do you have other money-saving tips for me? I would love to find out your tips and tricks, so don't be shy!
